Corpus Christi is in danger of heavy oil industry take over. It is home to the biggest petrochemical cracker plant in the world.
Industry needs lots of water in order to operate, and has already gained access to the regional water reserves. 80% of that water is planned to go to heavy industry.
There are plans to build four desalination plants in Corpus Christi Bay to help grow the fossil fuel industry.
This will have a significant impact on the ecosystem of the Bay.
